These people are fascinating. Absolutely content in their dellusion. I swear, they remind me of character from '1984' who happily swallow contradicting bullshit and beg for more. Here's what I'm speaking about:

"A draft proposal would let oil refineries, hazardous waste incinerators, chemical plants and dozens of other types of facilities that drop below those annual thresholds to reclassify themselves as minor sources of pollution under the Clean Air Act's air toxics program.

By doing so, businesses could potentially pollute at levels just below the thresholds — rather than be subject to the more stringent requirements for major sources. The proposal applies to air pollutants such as benzene, cyanide, asbestos, lead, mercury and chlorine."

Now here's the kicker. Right after this statement, directly quoted, nothing changed - it's all there:

Bob Slaughter, president of the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association, called the proposal "good news for protection of health and the environment."

Have these people gone insane?

"Yes. You see, we'll protect your health AND the environment by polluting MORE, which you see, really helps you by US getting more money and skirting responsibility so once we've thoroughly destroyed everything, we can move to a deserted island and leave the tax payers to clean it up with Superfund money, so really, we're ACTUALLY creating JOBS for you in the future by leaving you something to do once we're done. And while we're at it, we'll kill some babies too. And eat them."
